Buying or selling a floor
- You are buying a floor in a South Delhi building

- You own a floor and want to know what your deed gives you
- You want to know what each floor is worth
Have a lawyer read the papers for the floor you are buying or selling.
Six things to read
If it is not in the deed, you have not bought it

First
A stilt building, floor by floor
Basement, stilt, ground, first, second, third, terrace. There is no fourth floor.

01
The plot's papers
The floor's title comes from the plot underneath it.

02
The share of the land
The deed must say how much, as a number.

03
The parking
"Two car parkings" says nothing. Your lane or slot, marked on the plan.

04
The terrace
The terrace you saw on the visit comes only if the deed brings it.

05
The stilt and the basement
A stilt is a parking level, not a room.

06
The building's own papers
The approved plan, the Completion Certificate (CC) if there is one, and no loan.
The guide has the rest — the weak and the clear wording for each, what each floor is worth, five common mistakes, and the checklist.
